Intergenerational Programs
Interest in intergenerational activities involving older adults
and children continues to grow as the size and composition of
nuclear families continue to change in the United States and other
industrialized nations. Intergenerational programs are most frequently
found in schools, child and adult day care programs, community
centers, and with civic organizations and youth groups. The links
below include resource centers for information, training and technical
assistance in local programming; state intergenerational networks;
academic intergenerational service and related activities; and
local service programs. A special section includes links to papers
addressing the often debated public policy issue of intergenerational
equity.
