Second World Assembly on Ageing

Photo taken during the opening session of the World Assembly Head of US Delegation to the World Assembly on Ageing, Josefina G. Carbonell, hosted a luncheon for US NGOs attending the World Assembly on Ageing and the NGO Forum. Representatives from 50 different NGOs were represented at the luncheon. Special recognition was given to Grace Ijema, International Federation of Aging, and a member of the Global Alliance for Women's Health, and Carol Lubbin, International Federation for Settlements and Neighborhood Centers. Both of these individuals are over 90 years old and continue to remain extremely active. David Hohman, US Health Attache for International Organzations in Geneva provided an update on the negotiations of the International Plan of Action on Ageing.
