Assistant Secretary Carbonell will join local officials and seniors to inaugurate the center named in honor of the late Bob Ross, a former San Antonio Councilman and the first chairman of the City/County Joint Commission on Elderly Affairs. Ross devoted much of his life’s efforts to raising awareness of senior concerns and issues in the San Antonio area. The Ross family will be in attendance.

The Bob Ross Center will combine services of the City of San Antonio and Bexar County to provide a first-time “one-stop” clearinghouse for services and information for seniors and their caregivers. The center was funded through local voter-approved bonds and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
