March 11th, 2005 Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Mark B. McClellan, M.D., Ph.D. and Administration on Aging Assistant Secretary Josefina Carbonell will visit the Jaisohn Center and the Center in the Park beginning at 1PM on Friday, March 11. Assistant Secretary Carbonell and Dr. McClellan will be discussing Medicare preventive benefits now available and the new Medicare prescription drug coverage with seniors and patients at these centers. WHO: CMS Administrator Mark B. McClellan, M.D., Ph.D. WHERE and WHEN: 1PM The Jaisohn Center 2PM Center in the Park The Jaisohn Center is the Korean Community Medical Center in Philadelphia. The National Asian Pacific Center on Aging (NAPCA) also hosts a Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) in the Center. About 100 Korean and Chinese seniors are expected to be in attendance. The Center in the Park is a non-profit community center in Northwest Philadelphia primarily focused on the needs of older people. The programs at Center in the Park are meant to provide opportunities for older adults to participate in social, recreational, health and fitness, arts and humanities and lifelong learning activities. ### The AoA is a Federal agency dedicated to policy development, planning and the delivery of supportive home and community-based services to older persons and their caregivers through the national aging network of state and local agencies on aging, tribal organizations, service providers and volunteers. |
