Josefina G. Carbonell, Assistant Secretary for Aging of the United States (U.S.). Administration on Aging (AoA) and Dr. Patricia Morrissey, Commissioner for Developmental Disabilities of the U.S. Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD) will be hosting a Town Hall Listening Session at the Minnesota Age Odyssey 2004: A Timeless Journey conference to be held in St. Cloud, Minnesota on August 24 and 25, 2004.

The annual Age Odyssey conference is Minnesota’s largest multi-disciplinary aging education and networking event. The conference focuses on strategies that help seniors remain independent and ways for communities to develop the infrastructure and services needed to best serve them. The Age Odyssey conference attracts between 800 and 1000 participants each year.

The Town Hall Listening Session will provide people with developmental disabilities, older people, their families and professionals an opportunity to address the issue of what AoA and ADD can do to strengthen the long term support services system to benefit people with disabilities of all ages.

In addition to the Listening Session, the Assistant Secretary for Aging and the Commissioner for Developmental Disabilities will offer the keynote address at a conference luncheon on August 24th.
