Aging Well-Living Well: Fit for
Life – Citywide Event
in Chicago

In celebration of Older Americans Month (May), the Chicago Department
on Aging is sponsoring its annual citywide conference for senior
citizens. Josefina G. Carbonell, Assistant Secretary for Aging
of the U.S. Administration on Aging (AoA) will be keynote speaker
at the Aging Well-Living Well: Fit for Life conference on May
11, 2004 in Chicago, IL.
“Aging Well, Living Well” is a
powerful theme that has taken root in hundreds of programs and
activities planned around the
country to celebrate Older American’s Month this year,” said
Josefina G. Carbonell. “Senior citizens are among our
greatest treasures, and this year’s theme gives us the
opportunity to celebrate and recognize older Americans who
are living longer,
healthier, and more productive lives,” she added.
The conference is expected to draw
over 1,500 participants and will feature a variety of activities
for seniors, including
workshops,
entertainment, lunch, and health screenings. The event will
