A new Administration on Aging-funded study on respite care – supportive care programs that provide relief from daily routines of caregiving for Alzheimer’s patients – shows that properly designed community-based programs make a significant difference in the quality of care for patients and in the quality of life for caregivers.
The Assistant Secretary for Aging, Josefina G. Carbonell, will make opening remarks, followed by the release and discussion of key findings from the AoA-funded study. The Alzheimer’s Association will discuss the importance of this data to improving services to Alzheimer’s patients and those who care for them.
