Screening Maneuvers
- Risk assessment every 1-2 years; Review medications
- Height and weight every 1-2 years
- Blood pressure every 1-2 years
- Clinical breast exam (yearly)
- Total cholesterol and HDL-cholesterol (every 5 years for
both men and women) to age 75
- Papanicolaou smear (may be performed at the mutual consent
of the patient and provider after age 65)
- Mammograms (annually until age 75; may be performed at the
mutual consent of the patient and provider after age 75)
- Colon cancer screening (frequency of screening is dependent
on the screening test used; refer to the National Guideline
Clearinghouse [NGC] summary of the ICSI guideline Colorectal
Cancer Screening for more information.)
- Objective visual acuity testing (after age 74); Subjective
hearing testing (after age 74)
- Osteoporosis screening (review risk factors and order bone
mineral density [BMD] test if indicated)
