March is National Nutrition Month®

The theme for the 2010 National Nutrition Month® is “ Nutrition from the Ground Up.”

National Nutrition Month® is a nutrition education and information campaign created annually in March by the American Dietetic Association. The campaign focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.

Eating right and being fit are keys to staying healthy throughout life. As nutrient needs change with aging, it is important for consumers to know which foods offer the vitamins and minerals that will promote healthy aging. Help feel your best by learning how to make healthy food choices – especially those that are lower in calories and packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber and other nutrients – and by being physically active every day.
