SECRETARY LEAVITT AND ACTING DEPUTY SECRETARY JOIN ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR AGING IN CELEBRATING LONG-TERM LIVING! DURING OLDER AMERICANS MONTH WITH A WALK ON THE NATIONAL MALL

HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt, Acting Deputy Secretary Alex Azar and Assistant Secretary for Aging Josefina Carbonell will kick off a 30-minute walk in celebration of Older Americans month at the Great Hall of the Hubert Humphrey Building. This year's theme of "Celebrate Long-Term Living!" seeks to improve the lives of older Americans.

WHAT:   Kick Off Walk to Honor Area Older Americans and
     Celebrate Long-Term Living!

WHEN:   Wednesday, May 4, 2005
    Check-in begins at 9:00 a.m.
    Walk begins at 10:00 a.m.

WHERE:   The Great Hall in the Hubert Humphrey Building
    200 Independence Avenue, SW
    Washington, D.C.
    Thirty-minute walk route includes the reflecting pool and mall area in front of the U.S. Capitol.
