Discretionary Grants - How to Request a Continuation, Supplement, or Revision

Continuations:
The Administration on Aging (AoA) will be implementing new procedures for grantees that are due to receive continuation funding for their current project period. The new procedures will bypass the Grants.gov application process and be based on the grantee’s most recently required and submitted semi-annual Program Progress Report being reviewed and deemed satisfactory.

AoA will continue to use the streamlining process for non-competing continuation awards. Before the end of the current budget period, a “Streamlined Non-Competing Continuation Worksheet” will be sent by AoA to the grantee. The grantee will be required through the Worksheet to indicate any significant changes in their next year’s budget since the initial application. Grantees with significant budget changes will be required to submit a revised Budget Justification

Revisions:
A grantee may request a revision to a current Notice of Award. As identified by Federal Administrative Regulations (45 CFR Part 74 for Non-Profit Organizations and 45 CFR Part 92 for State and Local governments), these revisions may include: modifications to the budget, changes in key personnel or no-cost extensions of time. Most revisions require prior approvals from AoA. These requests may be sent via e-mail to grants.office@aoa.hhs.gov, and the Authorized Organization Representative (AOR) must be copied.

Supplemental Applications:
Supplemental awards may be available to existing grantees during the approved project period and are made at the sole discretion of AoA based on the merits of the proposal. Please contact your AoA project officer for the details.

A Notice of Award will be sent to the grantee after the action has been reviewed, processed in the system, and approved.
