DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES
Office of the Secretary
Administration on Aging
Washington, D.C. 20201
June 1997
Dear Colleague:
We are pleased to provide you with this update of the Compendium of Grant Resources for Native Americans" which was developed last year. The feedback we have received indicates that many of you have found this information useful.
I would like to particularly draw your attention to the section on "INTERNET RESOURCES". This section provides just a sample of the numerous sites on the World wide Web - and the number of new sites increases daily! Many federal agencies, including the Administration on Aging, are now including the Federal Register Announcement for all their grants and contracts on their Web sites. Most of the sites also provide links to other governmental, educational and private sites. Plans are underway to have most of the federal governments information for American Indian, Alaskan Native and Native Hawaiian programs on CODETALK (http:/www.codetalk.fed.us) to make it easier for Tribes to access the information.
Please join me in expressing gratitude to the AoA Region 8 office and the Community Resource Center in Denver, Colorado, for preparing and updating this Compendium, we welcome all of your suggestions on how useful you find the Compendium, as well as suggestions for additional information to include when we revise the Compendium. Please send your comments and suggestions to the Title VI Coordinator, Region 8, Administration on Aging, 1961 Stout Street, Room 1022, Federal Office Building, Denver, CO 80294.
Sincerely,
M. Yvonne Jackson
Director, Office for American Indian, Alaskan Native and Native Hawaiian Programs
